HAROLD CHARON
HAROLD CHARONBerklee College of Music

Harold Charon is a Cuban pianist and composer based in Boston. He started classical piano at five, and by the time he arrived at Berklee College of Music, he had built jazz performance, harmony, and contemporary music on top of that early classical foundation.

The meeting of those two worlds is what defines his playing. Harold moves between the discipline of classical training and the freedom of jazz improvisation — an approach shaped by the influence and mentorship of musicians like Taylor Eigsti, Fred Hersch, and Billy Childs.

He performs as a soloist, an accompanist, and a collaborative pianist, working with singers, instrumentalists, dance studios, churches, and ensembles, and adapting his style to fit each one. His repertoire spans jazz standards, classical works, Latin music, contemporary styles, and original compositions.

He has performed with ensembles across Cuba, collaborated with acclaimed Mexican singer Aida Cuevas, and played piano on an award-winning documentary screened at the Cannes Film Festival.

Concert, recital, audition, or ensemble — Harold brings the same thing to each: real attention, and the sense that every note is worth playing well.
