Dance Classes for Ages 8 to 11 Years
About the Classes
Students between the ages of 8–11 can take classes in Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Musical Theater, Conditioning, and eventually Hip Hop.
Students are placed based on both experience and ability level. Classes focus on steady progress, safe dance practice, and creating a dynamic and supportive learning environment where dancers can continue to grow artistically and technically.
As part of their ballet training, students also learn Character Dance. Royal Academy of Dance examinations are offered, and all students have performance opportunities throughout the year (see below).
We also welcome dancers who wish to participate exclusively in Tap, Jazz, Musical Theater, or Hip Hop classes. Ages listed are intended as general guidelines.

Royal Academy of Dance Exams
Metrowest Dance Academy offers Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) exams. Around the world, RAD exams are recognized for their quality, and each year, nearly a quarter of a million candidates take RAD ballet exams. The exams motivate and reward our students of all ages and abilities. The focus of exams is on the technique, performance and musicality demonstrated when performing a syllabus in an exam setting. The year-round training is created by the skilled and highly qualified MDA teachers to support each student’s progress and achievement in the performance of their syllabus each year.
